What Is a CHA?

Olivia King, pictured above, is Wildflower Healthcare's new Community Health Associate (CHA). Her role is to connect patients to community resources that support important factors of social determinants of health such as food, housing, education, and shelter--in addition to the medical and dental care provided at our clinic.

Olivia states, "As a CHA, I have the pleasure of working closely with our amazing patients, administrative and clinical staff, outreach personnel, and various agencies throughout St. Johns County such as UF Health St. Johns, St. Vincent de Paul, The Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County, and The Council on Aging. As a team, we serve as a safety net to contribute towards the well-being and optimal health of our patients."

Prior to working as a CHA, Olivia volunteered for Wildflower while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health services administration. After finishing her education, joined the clinic as a full-time employee.

"Although the journey has just begun," Olivia says, "it has been incredibly fulfilling and impactful so far. I am learning a lot along the way and am excited to be a part of the Wildflower team and serving our residents of St. Johns county.”
